Table Mountain Cape  Town

Rovos Rail Train Journey.
For many visitors to South Africa,what better way to experience the country than on the RovosRail 48-hour weekly Luxury train between Pretoria and Cape Town.

This  approximately 1 600- kilometre journey is a meandering through South Africa.

You travel through the grasslands of the gold-rich Highveld,  to the beautiful, emptiness of the Great Karoo.

You will meander through beautiful mountain ranges, to the valleys of the Cape Winelands.

The end of the Journey’s is in Cape Town, with the imposing Table Mountain overlooking the city.

One of the  highlights of the north- and southbound routes is a  visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein.

This is an  authentically  perfectly preserved Victorian Village, founded as a refreshment stop in 1890.

The train also stops in Kimberley,where you will be able to  enjoy a tour of the city,and visit the Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole,the  world’s largest man-made excavation.

Pretoria to Cape Town

Friday

15h00 Depart from Rovos Rail’s Station aboard the  Pride of Africa.

19h30Dinner and overnight on the train.

Saturday 
10h00 Arrive in Kimberley. Passengers visit the Big  Hole and the Diamond Mine Museum.

12h30 Depart Kimberley and proceed overnight via De  Aar and Beaufort West to Matjiesfontein.

Sunday
08h15 Visit the historic village of Matjiesfontein.

10h30 Depart Matjiesfontein and proceed via Touws River and Worcester to Cape Town.

18h00 Arrive at Cape Town Station, Platform 24.

Cape Town to Pretoria

Monday

11am  Depart from Platform 23 at Cape Town Station and proceed inland to Worcester.

6pm  Upon arrival in Matjiesfontein guests may visit this quaint historical villag

Tuesday

230pm Upon arrival in Kimberley board the bus for a tour of the Big Hole and the Diamond Mine Museum.

Wednesday

12h00 Arrive at journey’s end at Rovos Rail Station in Capital Park, Pretoria.
