Africa Safaris and Tours:Welcome to my world

Stephen, the owner  of Luxury South Africa Travel,  travels around Southern Africa so you can benefit from someone who walks the talk. What can I say, someone has to do it….

You will experience,as we design your South Africa Safari Tour experience,a site filled with unique possibilities.

When you  deal with Stephen Abelsohn, you are dealing with:

1) An ex-South African.

2) A South African Tourist Board FUNDI destination specialist from  one  of the first program.

3) Some one who splits time  between Cape Town South  Africa, and Oregon, USA.

Thereby keeping my pulse on the new,the different, the unique experiences and different combinations.

We only use tour operators who are in South Africa, thereby helping to provide employment opportunities for locals.

Stephen’s Eastern Cape Trip was featured as one of National Geographic’s Best Africa trips, some years ago.

More recently, /2009/2010 to be exact,Stephen was requested by a National Geographic-appointed writer to design a South  Africa  tour, and also guided the journalist through South  Africa.

This then formed the basis for the  feature article on South Africa, that was published in theNational Geographic at the time of the  FIFA  World Cup, JUne 2010 edition.

“Steven managed the impossible – with a kind of intuition he showed me the under-the-surface blood and heart of this remarkable country through the land we explored and the people we met until it was impossible not to want to return…..Alexandra Fuller on assignment for National Geographic (author of Dont Lets Go To The  Dogs Tonite  and Scribbling The Cat)

As the owner, the one responsible for many of the punctuation errors on this site, you are ensured of receiving the full attention of someone who cares that you have a full, memorable experience while on your Southern Africa Safari Tour.

As I am in South Africa so often,I ensure that all goes well and we have a support network  for any type of emergency 24/7 at your disposal.

Stephen  owns Rogue Travel in Ashland, Oregon. Rogue Travel is a ARC certified agency, incorporated in Oregon, and has the necessary licenses  from the City of Ashland, as well as the ability to issue airline tickets ( need to have a surety bond and be certified in order to do this).

Stephen has established  a specialty in providing unique rural cultural/arts/craft experiences, and as such we support sustainable tourism in those rural areas.

These can blend well with Luxury Safaris. These experiences may not be rich in Luxury Lodging, but rich in experiences.

Our South Africa Cultural tours are tours that go to the Eastern Cape, where Nelson Mandela and Steve Biko was born, rural villages, tradition, people to people contact, local western style en suite lodging.

We also offer Cultural tours to Venda,Art,Crafts,Rural Villages, Local Traditions, the UN world heritage site of Mapungupwe, close to the Botswana Tuli block, and to the Kruger National Park. All privately guided tours.
